Hi Darryle, perhaps because at the time neither MM or Druitts family new or could ascertain he had a '' cast iron alibi '' , i dont put much into what his family mayor may not have said tho as we dont have any evidence of that , just my opinion on that.

That's not quite correct what he says is "He was sexually insane and from private information I have little doubt but that his own family believed him to have been the murderer"

No mention of his seeing any documents or how he came by the private information.
