It's too Late for Mitre Square and Dorset Street, but there's still a chance to stave off British Land's plans to tear the heart out of Norton Folgate. Not a specific Ripoer site, I know, but part of his home turf.

Little did I know that when I started this thread, I would be re- located a couple of minutes a way.
So now I visit on a almost daily basis in case it is soon lost for ever.

And as I now work in a high glass tower block, I get to see a panoramic view of the city and east London.
And what I see is a sprawling mess of out of place tall glass monstrositys that are ruining the look and feel of a once beautiful historic cit, and all historic landmarks completely oblitarated from sight

Imagine Spitalfields without the market, no Fournier Street and no Elder Street. This is what would have happened in the late 70's had it not been for people like Dan Cruickshank and many others who protested and saved perfectly good historic buildings which now change hands for millions.

Following protests about a proposal by Examplar Properties to fell the trees on Brushfield Street they have now withdrawn their application. Little victories.
