You poor Yanks should get your asses over to London for this special and unique occasion.

My wife Donna and I will be coming over from Baltimore and it will be our fourth such UK convention. Wouldn't miss it!

    All the best

        Hi Suzi

Brighton was our last. We did Bournemouth (2001), Liverpool (2003), and Brighton (2005) but unfortunately were unable to make it over for the Wolverhampton conference in 2007. Still we'll more than make up for it this year! By the way, I enjoyed reading over and proofing your article "Poor Ginger" about the slaughter of old and injured horses in late Victorian London due to appear in Ripperologist 101. A sad but truthful article. Very nice work, Suzi!

I will look forward to meeting you as well, Mike. Will your wife be travelling down from Yorkshire with you, or will you be the sole ambassador from Hull? Any chance that John Savage might come down too?

Ok, I'm at the risk of sounding a bit daft here, but what happens at the ripper conference? Can anyone come along? What's the cost for the conference, and how do you book your place?

Sorry if a lot of these questions have been answered on the site, but my computers playing up, so just accessing the site through my mobile for a while, and as mobiles don't come flash enabled, can't access the site about the conference,

                  Hello Iris

Newbies and experienced old hands alike are welcome. So please feel free to sign up if you are interested in the case and would like in an entertaining and informative weekend.

If you sign up, you will find the lectures illuminating on different aspects of the case that you won't read about in books. The talks are given by experts who have been working in the field for years and thus have a fine understanding of the case.

Iris, if you decide to register, I don't think you will regret it. I have been to six conferences in all in the US and the UK, and have found that I have got something out of each of them.

                  All the best

                  Chris

Anyone got any idea about wheelchair access to the venue? I live in North Yorkshire, and its a bloomin' long way to come just to find out there's 16 steps to the front door! lol!

Hi Chris, the wife won't be coming, it will be just me. I am not sure of John's plans, but it would be nice to meet him. I do know there are several people from in and around Yorkshire coming, so I won't be totally alone.
                      Regards Mike

I found this snippet on The King's Stores website:

The Pub’s regal sounding name was adopted as a result of the site’s historical past.

The actual location was, during the reign of Henry VIII, a munitions storage depot for the English armies. This stretched to Spitalfields Market and beyond. On visiting this area you will notice that many of the street names and some businesses have titles that relate to this era in London’s historical and somewhat colourful past.

The area is also made famous (infamous) by “Jack The Ripper” misdeeds. It’s recorded that his final victim was last seen here in this establishment having a beverage before being mercilessly bludgeoned to death…

Sounds as though we have some educating to do.

I was wondering what you were trying to tell me through your gag.

                              My bad.
