Was anyone surprised by Steve Wright's age at the time of the murders (48)... I remember the FBI profile of Jack the Ripper and thought this was interesting, though, obviously they're very different cases.

She was lured into a false sense of security and murdered. It's not Wright's MO at all. Even the early murders of Wright display a lazy attitude to his murders. Dumping the bodies in water was about as clever as he got, and he didn't always do that.
48 is very old for a serial killer and I would expect that these murderers weren't the first if he was the killer.
(Turned out Sally Anna Bowmans killer Mark Dixie, had stuck before in Australia, but not in the UK, he was only cault by chance..)
Still i except that its a very strange case. I'd think it odd if he appeared that old as a serial killer out of no where.

These Women were lured into a false sense of security. They felt secure enough to go into his house. Even after "The Ripper Scare" was on. Theres no doubt Wright used every trick he had to secure his victims trust.
To be fair.. Police think the first two bodies were placed on dry ground. The area had flooded and washed the bodies into the stream. We dont know who placed them there. But they were stripped of all clothing and a blanket may have been used to carry them. Wright had gloves in his car that tested positive for blood and seminal fluid. This stuff indicates planning. He didnt go nuts and kill them in his car and then dumped them to the streets. He cleaned his car many times.
Wright is quick witted. He was able to slip through Police fingers on Dec 1 when he was stopped in the Redlight District. He was able to lie and con his way out of it. Thats what he is. He is also a thief.
This guy Wright is also a Sexual Maniac. He admitted to using the girls even when the heat was on. He conned his Wife/Family/Police/Victims/Public and maybe even a possible accomplice!
This guy Wright is pure dirt. No two ways about it.
Sounds to me like our elusive "Mister Kipper".

We must remember that certain situations arise in our lives that makes us take drastic actions to try and overcome them.
Perhaps these girls were struggling to buy money for food, shelter or the inevitable drugs.
I have several friends who have gone into "Non Sex Escort Services"
Why?
The first did it to support her three kids after her husband died, the second did it to get enough money to by a house after her husband beat her to within an inch of her life.
I know and have known several people who have gone into "Chat Line" work, to pay off bills and provide for their families.
One girl told me, the dirtier you get the more you earn!
I was a manager of a busy retail store at the time, and my wife was a supervisor of a similar store and this girl was taking home double what we were earning!!
We must also remember these girls had families.
Nice to see you back DP

Wright admitting to having several prostitutes home and at one point stated he was afraid Pam would find out because of perfume left on the bed!
Perhaps Pam turned a blind eye to the prostitution business, standing by her man, and becoming an unwitting pawn in Steve Wrights game.
After all there is a long history of partners killing together.

[QUOTE=Mitch Rowe;43725]We dont really know how much was planned. There will always be the question of "Was there an accomplice or not?". Its probably smarter to know the area you are "Working" in. Maybe he rented the flat for the purpose of killing?

Exactly !!!. Wright is according to people who knew and worked with him "Not the brightest candle in the box" he does not possess the mental capability to plan all this.
Tom Stephens an ex special in the red light district of Norwich certainly does have the knowledge and mental capacity to plan all these very complicated acts.... regards jsi

One of them, the darker coloured car, was presumably Wright's Mondeo while the other was identified as a Renault Clio.
At least one of the final two bodies did not show any signs of having been dragged to the deposition site, therefore it is reasonable to conclude that two people carried at least one of the bodies. A body carried by one person would show signs of being dumped onto the ground, and the ground too would show signs of the impact of a body being dumped.
In his summing up, the judge suggested that more than one person may have been involved in the both the murder and/or the deposition of the bodies, although there was only one suspect in the dock.
