I think an institutionalized atmosphere can create power-complexes which can become dangerously out of proportion, and can generate hugely out of perspective morality in such a closed and conditioned environment.

For example, when caught, the perpetrators of the care home murder/s will no doubt have little real regret - at the time, it was appropriate action to "punish" the children. This hothouse of power can create incredible personalities - Nilsen, being such a private man, created this same out of perspective world for himself, which allowed him to mentally take the horror of dismemberment, for example. Christie is another, and the Wests yet another.

I have read several books on the West's and one of them, (I think it's just called "Fred and Rose") made me feel so sick, angry and helpless.

I read the fred and Rose book and it sickened me to the core. Likewise, the Rillington Place murders had a similar effect. In the case of Rillington Place, the total seediness and squalor of the house overpowered me. Add to that Christie and his sinister crimes and you have absolute horror. I think there is something very powerfully disturbing about family homes that become tombs and, as you have pointed out, the very private nature of some of these killers make them even more horror-inducing.

Serial killers like Wright have a form of superiority complex. They honestly believe that they are smarter than everyone else, and that everyone else is a blithering idiot. When they are caught, they simply re-configure their logic; "well, those stupid bloody cops caught the wrong guy!"

Bundy admitted to it only because he was 48 hours from execution, and because he could get some media attention out of it by scapegoating pornography and taking the role of victim. Watch that interview - all lies and bullshit.

Wright will never admit it - simply stop denying it eventually. Wait 'til he's charged with the other five murders*, then the fun'll kick off.

I dont know if they will ever charge him for any other Murders. It would be nice though to clear them up. I think they propbably had the right guy charged in Vicki Halls death.

No way, he didn't do Suzi. Wright is opportunistic, not a planner. He took a flat in the red light district, which he was very familiar with, and dumped victims, again, in areas easy to access yet very familiar to him. Suzi was murdered in a pre-planned attack. She was lured into a false sense of security and murdered. It's not Wright's MO at all. Even the early murders of Wright display a lazy attitude to his murders. Dumping the bodies in water was about as clever as he got, and he didn't always do that.
