He sure could mix humor and horror. Sorry to hear this.

I heard the news on the Channel 7 news show tonight at 11:00 P.M. Now I wonder if the "Nightmare on Elm Street" and his other francise will be shut down or continue under a new producer.

NoES was already in the early remake stages again. I'd guess they'll just push it out faster now. Though I wouldn't be surprised if more of his movies suddenly have remakes coming.

Sad news indeed... I had the pleasure of meeting him once, he was a really nice guy ( it was not at a convention or anything.. just kind of a fluke run in)..I admit I am not a fan of all of his work, But the 1st Nightmare on Elm Street is a masterpiece ( don't like any of the sequels or remakes....except New Nightmare was kind of fun) Serpent and the Rainbow was great, The Hills Have Eyes ( again the original) another great film... And he did make what may be the most disturbing film ever released to general release theaters ever in the US, Last House on the Left ( again the original.. not the remake) a VERY VERY hard film to watch.. inspired by the Bergman film Virgin Spring (also hard to watch, bit nothing like Last House on the Left!!)

            Rest in peace Wes
