Having given this subject some thought, I'd personally like to nominate Sex and the City.

It always really irritated me.

I know people who loved it, but to me the depiction of female friendships was kind of insulting.

I'm a girl. I have female friends. We talk about much more than men, sex and shoes.

We don't squeal in excitement at the thought of a new handbag, and our boozing repertoire extends far beyond cosmopolitans and fizz.

I remember all the chat about "which one of the characters are you?"

None of them, nor are any of my friends represented.

I'd run a mile from any of the self absorbed, vacuous, asinine characters depicted.
