  • You're being played by the right-wing media, Harry. You'll deny it, you'll scream and yell, but you're being played. They know your beliefs and they report what you want to hear, and in the way you want to hear it.

The two policemen murdered in California weren't killed by BLM protesters. They were killed by Boogaloo goons. Right-wing, pro-Trump neo-Nazis who want to trigger a civil war. They were Trump supporters AND cop killers.

I have relatives in Portland, and I've been there dozens of times, and I dare say I know more what goes on up there than you do. MOST of the violent unrest was caused by outsiders. Most all of it was in one section of town, whereas the peaceful BLM protests were in another. Throughout the riots, Proud Boys and Boogaloo right-wing nutters came in to foment the problem, and got into clashes with the more violent left-wing anarchists. It was civil war on a small scale, and to portray it as left-wing protesters is just plain ol' fashion BULLSHITE.

That you're blaming it ALL of the unrest on BLM speaks volumes, yet you write about "double-standards"? Are you wiling to equally condemn...here and now...the violence committed by Boogaloo and Proud Boys and other neo-fascist groups?

By a coincidence, I also have relatives in Milwaukie. They are lifelong GOP supporters and have no reason to lie. They saw, with their own eyes, four white men, short hair, get out of a car during the unrest, and start smashing windows.

The car had Texas license plates. Do the math. But I'll give you a hint: they weren't Biden supporters.

We've seen it before in the early days of Nazi Germany. Right wing goons smash up the city, knowing a large percentage of the population will blame the communists and the socialists. At the same time, there WERE communists also smashing up things.

Thus, in the same breath, I fully acknowledge that SOME of the violent protesters in Portland were what might be loosely called "anarchists," ie., the one's tearing down statues, etc. but this had NOTHING to do with the peaceful protests on the other side of town by BLM held in broad daylight. As always happens, a small number of discontents and freaks wanted to discredit any peaceful movement by turning it into a riot.

This is what happens. Its commonplace. Yet, you've fallen for it hook, line, and sinker.

In short, the unrest is far more complicated and uncertain than what you are portraying. It's not a matter of "right is good, left is bad," even though that's what you're being peddled by a partisan press, and gleefully repeating here.

But none of this has squat to do with Donald John Trump. He's just a grifter that ran for office in order to fill his own pockets. Like all grifters, he pretended to be a populist, because they are the easiest "marks" and wrapping yourself in the flag and carrying a bible that you've never read is by far the easiest way to make money and be successful politically with no questions asked.

    • By the way, I saw a news segment a couple weeks back that claimed that the highest percentage of recent gun purchases in the U.S.A. isn't among Republicans, but among Democrats.

Suburbanites are arming themselves. My guess is that they aren't afraid of BLM. They're afraid of Proud Boys, Boogaloo, "Patriot" militias, and weird anti-makers we see on the news who hold 'peaceful' demonstrations while carrying semi-automatic assault rifles. But like I say, it's just my guess.

But oh boy, did he ever...

I think it is a lot worse than that. We should call it what it is: an attempted anti-democratic revolution by Trump and his spineless henchmen. They are trying to subvert the will of the voters. First they tried to attack the ballots in the courts. The problem was, none of the evidence they presented to support their case was credible and serious. Thus didn't stop them however from holding panto-type "hearings" in hotels, parking-lots and Fox News where there is no consequences to lying un broad daylight. Next, they attempted to insert themselves into the certification process itself, which also failed because there were enough election officials with conscience. Then they attempted to go to the Supreme Court with "evidence" which has already been discredited in the state courts multiple times over. But what really takes the biscuit is the fact that 19 other GOP AGs and 126 GOP congressmen supported a court case to overturn the outcome of an election.

There is no other way to state this: in the continued absence of evidence which withstands legal scrutiny (and this had been pretty clear after 4 or 5 of the 50 file court cases nationwide), this week's events were an attempted coup by the GOP. The question is, what should be the consequences for the plotters? I mean, I fully expected Trump to be the band from hell about losing the election. I just thought that he would do this in isolation and wouldn't be enabled in his dictatorial instincts by the GOP.

So now that all legal avenues are exhausted and ther election had been certified, that left for him to try? Insurrection by his zombie supporters and Proud Boys? Try to get some if the worst of his henchmen into the Pentagon for an actual military coup? I think he's too narcissistic not to try. Buckle up everyone, he will go for broke but he will fail. And THEN it will be time to talk about consequences for what is happening.

          Cheers.

Proud Boy Chairman, Enrique Tarrio, was spotted inside the White House this morning. The WH staff claimed the timing was coincidental and he was just there to take a tour. In other news, there's a bridge in Brooklyn up for sale.

Word is going around that when the slates from each state go to Congress, where they have to be certified, Trump might get some Republicans in Congress to delay, halt or otherwise interfere with the process.

The problem isn't that Trump is not smart enough to pull off a military coup, the problem is he is dumb enough to think he could.

I wonder if Biden can produce an executive order to require, by law, all future presidential candidates to submit their taxes.
That might keep Trump & his family from entering in 2024, but of course the Manhatten District looking into all the Trump family tax fraud might be able to take them out of circulation - from the White House to the Big House.

              39 days to go....

              Regards, Jon S.
