I am really quite worried - I can imagine him taking a break from the site, but he did not strike me as the sort of man who would ignore your emails, Abby. Quite the opposite. I hope he is OK too, but I fear he needs our thoughts and prayers - he certainly has mine.

Doubt it, he's a bit of a luddite, much like myself, but he did have an essay put up on Anthony Browns 'Cold Case Jury' site around the time he was last sighted here so maybe worth trying him but I can't get the contact link to work on his site?

Does anyone know anything about Herlock personally? Has he mentioned family, or his home city? Or if an occupation or if he's retired, which might indicate an age range & perhaps a health risk? Has he ever said anything like "I can't write anymore 'cause my arthritis is flaring up again" or other some such?

Yes, something is amiss. His last activity on the sight, as indicated by his Members List profile, was May 2nd. Even if he's not been posting, which alone would be uncharacteristic, not even visiting the site is worrying.

Hi Jeff, it was March 2nd, a really long time since he even logged in. I hope he just decided he couldn't be bothered with it anymore and is concentrating on his art or something.
Honestly, when I originally asked if anyone knew anything I didn't expect so much of a response. Like I said, people come and go and some posters are silent for ages at a time, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds it strange.

Herlock and I had exchanged brief PM's on 1st March and there was no indication that he was planning on taking some time out. He'd just changed the tag line on his profile and everything seemed fine.

I'm sure he'd have responded to Abby's email, even if only to confirm he's ok.
