I live in Nashville, and I have never heard of this dude.... my ex turns out to be a fan, but found him after our associations. If I’m going to look at YouTube for one song for this guy to win me over, what song does it have to be?The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

It's a beautiful song from a great album, and contains the haunting line "Ain't it funny how an old broken bottle, Looks just like a diamond ring".
Another great song is Clay Pigeons.
I think it's possibly the only song from one of his albums that was written by someone else, in this case the great Blaze Foley.
In my opinion, Prine sings it better than anyone.
