    Hi everyone!

Most of you are going to think I'm barmy but I just can't resist saying this:

Some of you know I'm a Christian, and some of you also know I'm a Creationist as well. This means that I believe that God created Adam and Eve and that all of us are descended from them. Therefore, I believe that we are all related to each other and that all of us on this planet are FAMILY. Whatever our colour, religion, locality, etc., etc.

I'm sorry if I've upset anyone. Please feel free to say what you want to!

    Carol

      Carol,

Genetics puts all together without having to bring God into the equation. Yet, however you want to get on board the we-are-all-the-same bandwagon is cool by me.

      Mike
      huh?

        Hello Mike,
Genetics is great! Just take your thoughts on to the next step. I think you're halfway there.

          Carol,

I could say that you are halfway there too, or 50% too far.

I believe that until people think of themselves as HUMAN first and ethnicity or religion as an interesting but not integral part of themselves, we are doomed. I realize that that is a big idea and may be well beyond the simplicity of 'self' first, but it's what I think is vital for survival of all. If I insulted you, it wasn't my intention and I am sorry if it came across that way.

            Oh, farra, betam farra !

I did read "I'm not surprised" instead of "I'm surprised" !! sorry Mike !

Now still I believe uniformity and globalization are causing and will cause wars just as nationalism did in the past.

And still, if you're a Papoo, you're really a man.

              Hi Mike,
I like the 50% too far bit!
Does that mean we are meeting in the middle or still in opposite camps?

I agree with all this, david. That is the next step. How do we get globalization to equal equality. How can uniformity of sorts incorporate all? Of course there will be loss of culture and language as sad to some as that may be. yet, i suggest that some form of global equality with a nostalgic connection to ethnicity rather than some in-your-face demands of separation are preferable to conflict.

You sure have as much faith in genetics as Bin Ladin in the Quran.

Well, I sort of believe in God because I like the idea. There is absolutely no logic involved in the concept to my mind, however. I am dead against doctrine and the idea that any books written about God (the Bible, Quran, Baghavad Ghita) have any more meaning than what Neanderthals thought when they looked at the heavens and buried their dead. You tell me where we are.

The selfish side of me would agree. The selfless side would allow me to forfeit that tastiness.

A written religion is certainly great if it keeps the same feelings Neanderthals had burying their dead. It's not always the case, unfortunately. Some became soon a harassing collection of contingent laws. Actually, most of them at some point.

It must work in all and from all directions, of course.

I sort of think God favors Scottish independence. I might be wrong.

If you record his/her/its voice in whatever language God speaks, I'm with you.
