Which teams are the most supported on Casebook ?

I myself am a Liverpool fan, born in Liverpool, from a family of Liverpool fans. Have to say that i am die hard, though i have a sneaky second team and they are the Hammers.....went out with a London girl many years ago and her family were season ticket holders at the Boleyn, something about West Ham always appealed to me before this......nothing to do with Jack though

Hi Jason - I have always liked Liverpool as a Premiership team compared to MU or Arsenal etc.

However - as a Londoner - I grew up supporting Leyton Orient (it being my 'local' team). However - a group of us used to follow West Ham and Tottenham as well as LO way back in the 1970s.

23 years ago I moved to Peterborough and as I always like to watch football and my (then) young children were growing up in the city - we started to go to see Peterborough United. My husband had lived in Peterborough as a teenager and was already a fan. So for about 20 years I have been faithful to POSH. We recently returned to the Championship and won our first league game (Crystal Palace) so I have hopes for a fruitful season!

              I just love football!

                Sunderland.

My great grandad used to walk 20 miles to watch SAFC. Both Grandads, a couple of uncles and aunties, cousins, and Dad all follow (or followed when alive) SAFC. In the blood really. Fair to say I've put a lot of time and money into following the club around the country.

Underlying reason is I come from a mining area in County Durham and Sunderland is the Durham club.

Sunderland were excellent today in the second half, totally nullified Liverpool. Old fat head Bruce always seems to do well against us, especially at Anfield. Think Sunderland will do ok this year based on them today.

Pretty much a re-run of last season. Decent in patches, and that's not going to be enough to be anything more than a mid table side.

A better side than Liverpool would have been out of sight at half time.

A good point for us, though.

Sets us up nicely for next week - Geordies at home.

We need to add some consistency, which is what let us down last season, but then that's difficult to find with half a new team on the pitch.

Colback has a lot of potential, very comfortable on the ball, never looks rushed, but the wilier managers will make sure he's bullied from the kick off and he'll struggle to cope with that due to his size and lack of experience.

We're probably two players off being able to compete with Everton for 7th spot.

Still progress, though. Slow and steady wins the race.

                          Jason,

                          Why do I support Chelsea?

Well, My great uncle, on my mothers mothers side, went to Chelsea's very first home game in 1905 ( a friendly v Liverpool..4-0--), and the first league game played there too two weeks later. (w 5-1)

He passed on his love for the team to his niece, my mother.. and then me. He was a personal friend of Ted Drake the manager in the 1950's, by which time he was a Chelsea Pensioner (for all that do not understand that.. he was an old soldier and lived at Royal Hospital Chelsea, a retirement home and nursing home for former members of the British Army .. just down the road from the football ground.)

I was the youngest of 3 and the only boy, and he made Mum swear that I was to support Chelsea. Apparently the name was the one of the first words I learned to say. (apart from Mummy, Daddy etc).

Dad took me to my first match at Stamford Bridge way back in the 1960's (v West Ham 17th Dec 1967, 5-5) and I have been to see them play both at Stamford Bridge and to away games in England over 500 times since then, and haven't missed watching them on TV, or occasionally each season, at the ground, every Premiership game since around 1991 not more than 3 times.

My favourite line I ever saw written about Chelsea Football Club was the following, seen on the back of a match programme a few years ago...

"If it were a choice between Chelsea or your girlfriend.. would you miss her?"

                          That's "why Chelsea?" Jason :-)

                          kindly

                          Phil
