    Hi,
Making sure that spelling, and punctuation are at a premium, when posting on a thread that Bob is likely to visit.
Could not resist that one Bob..
    Regards Richard.

Life has taught me that it's worth spending money on a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you're not in one, you're in the other.

And if you're in the wrong bed, you need good shoes to run away.

In response to The Grave Maurice in post #11 on honesty, life has taught me that when someone begins a sentence with "I don't mean to say such-and-such, but..." the first half of the sentence is always untrue.

In response to Limehouse in post #31 on fashion in Britain, life (and travel) have taught me that unlike the U.S., London is absolutely filled with young women in short skirts and black stockings, which when you're packed into a train car on the tube at rush hour at least makes for plenty of nice eye candy. Ok, that was naughty of me.

Life has taught me that things that seem too good to be true often are, and that as you age our society is set up in a way that makes it hard to remain completely healthy.

Life has taught me that there is no such thing as a senseless crime (every crime makes sense to the person committing it), and that there is no such thing as an untimely death (whenever you die-- that's your time!).

              Words of wisdom

Here are some more things that life has taught me.

“The efficiency of any organisation is in direct inverse proportion to the number of posters they display”

And since it’s Royal week, one from Prince Philip,

“If you see a man opening a car door for a lady it’s either a new car or a new wife!”

                  Hello Bob,

And just how many posters did Scotland Yard splash up outside every police station during the Whitechapel murders?

                  best wishes

Oh Prince Phillip, it's like every time the mouth opens, the foot is inserted. Not that he isn't correct, but when was the last time he opened a door at all?

                        There is only one rule in life as fair as I'm concerned;

When we are young the people we think are cool turn out to arseholes and idiots when we eventually grow up, just like the rest of the human race.

Give me a self confessed idiot every time. It's the Socratic method you know.

                          Actually quite frequently.

Prince Philip is an extremely intelligent and well mannered person. His breadth of knowledge is simply staggering.

You are so right. When I was sixteen I thought I knew it all. Now I havent got a clue

When I was a child I couldn't wait to be an adult. I hated being controlled by school etc. I thought being an adult was the greatest thing in the world. I now know it is somewhat over rated

ahahahah yes that's why it's better to bite and scratch and hit first and then talk... on the other hands you'll have just as much troubles if it wears a dress, just different kind of troubles.
