Baron Frankenstein, of course, was a famous bodybuilder. In keeping with the Anna reference, it's rumoured that while he was creating the monster he whistled a happy tune - "Getting To Sew You," I think it was.
His Father was Anglo-Indian, as well as his famous lisp he was bow legged, he wasnts the original choice for Frankenstein (Lugosi was), and he only played that part 3 times.
He was also extremely kind, playing Father Christmas at orphanages and childrend hospitals for many years, buying the presents himself and, when Lugosi was struggling for work, made sure he was cast as Igor in a Frankenstein movie. Stating if Bela wasnt in it, he wouldnt be and ensured Lugosi was paid equally to him.
There seem to be some bizarre deaths connected to John Barrymore. Guy Standing, the man he replaced in the Col. Nielson role of the Bulldog Drummond series, died soon afterward when he was bitten by a rattlesnake in 1937. Martha Mansfield, who starred with Barrymore in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, died on a movie set in 1923 when her dress accidentally caught fire.
This my opinion and to the best of my knowledge, that is, if I'm not joking.
Question: Although Karloff played the monster only 3 times, in which of the canonical 8 Frankenstein movies did he play the evil Dr. Neimann? (Note: Frankenstein 1970 was not canonical.)
ohhh House of Frankenstein... I thought everyone forgot about that film...another fun Universal Monster fact, of all the classic Monsters, only 1 was played by the same actor in each film, and that is Lon Chaney JR as The Wolfman (also, Lon Played all three of the big Universal Monsters... name the films he was the Frankenstein Monster and "dracula")
"The truth is what is, and what should be is a fantasy. A terrible, terrible lie that someone gave to the people long ago."- Lenny Bruce
How about "Ghost of Frankenstein" (with Sir Cedrick Hardwicke) and "Son of Dracula"? (He also did a cameo of the monster on "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.")
If all the people of China stood on a kitchen chair and all jumped down at the same time, in unison, it would cause a tidal wave large enough to flood the USA.

Edgar Wallace, who is given screen credit for the 1933 original "King Kong", never wrote a single word for the film, he died en route to America.
I confess that altruistic and cynically selfish talk seem to me about equally unreal. With all humility, I think 'whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might,' infinitely more important than the vain attempt to love one's neighbour as one's self. If you want to hit a bird on the wing you must have all your will in focus, you must not be thinking about yourself, and equally, you must not be thinking about your neighbour; you must be living with your eye on that bird. Every achievement is a bird on the wing.

The reason why the bouncing bombs in the Dambusters film was spherical and not cylindrical, as the really were, is because the Director had to guess the shape. This due to the fact the design was still deemed as classified information.
Pele tied up his boots just prior to kick off of the 1970 world cup final knowing the cameras would pick this up and beam it to homes around the world. His laces were never loose, his boot providers (Puma) asked him to do this. Pele obliged and made himself a packet.
Speaking of Puma, the Dassler brothers (Adolf and Rudi) made sports shoes just before and during the war.
Rudi was a big Nazi supporter whereas Adolf was not so keen. The pair fell out.
After the war, Adolf formed his own company called Adidas (Adi was his shortend name - ADI DASler) whereas Rudi formed Puma. The two companies are Dassler created. The brothers never spoke to each other again.
The first British Jet fighter aircraft were built at Brockworth,Gloucester,England. They could take off from there, but could not land there,as the runway was too short for landing. They landed and operated from a different airfield.
The heavy defences around the airfield had one significant flaw, which was totally overlooked by the authorities.A person could approach unseen to wihin thirty yards of the engine test bed. This was known to only a few individuals, but luckily not to the enemy.
QUOTE=Monty;153498]Boris Karloff attended the Merchant Taylor school. The same school Dr Frederick Gordon Brown attended.
Karloffs sister, Anna, was a Nanny in Siam and became this inspiration for Anna in the King & I.
