Nope. A 50 year old man stopped, picked up a dead armadillo that was carrying the plague (many do) took it home and repeatedly tossed it at his brother-in-law for drunken hitting practice. His brother-in-law evidently hit a Grand Slam and showered him with blood and viscera. And if that wasn't enough, it made the women-folk shriek so he walked over to what was left of the corpse picked it up and rubbed it on his face while pounding his chest doing a Tarzan impersonation. All on tape.

First, congratulations on your essay. That is a huge achievement. Not just for a 17-year-old, but for anyone. I don't think any one here will disregard you just because you are young. I quite enjoy reading all your posts. They're well thought out, and you have very interesting topics. I'm 23, and I have to say, it's nice that there are more young people out there with the same interest as I. Especially ones who aren't as shy as myself and tend to speak up.

Nice to hear that. Yes it is a huge achievement(to me) but I won't be content until it is done and over with.
Anyhow, Tennessee is not that bad. Where I live, there isn't as much roadkill as you imagine.

first off, of course, very much looking forward to your essay.
I think you must be about the same age that I was when I wrote my first Ripper piece, some time ago now rjlees.co.uk and i also wrote an article for Ripperoo (now defunct, sadly due in part to the death of its former editor Jules Rosenthall) about the same point, I do not recall which came first. I was possibly 17 or perhpas 18 then, it was I was 16 when I started out, and i'm now older than that, it was 10 years ago now!
You make me wonder if I am the youngest person to have spoken at a JTR conf, when I stepped in in 2005, well, i must have been 21.
Anyway, age is no barrier

Thank you. I am still unsure if Don wishes to use it. I haven't been contacted by him in a while, of coarse he must be extreamily busy getting the next issue ready for October. I hope it will be featured. Perhaps I will get lucky.
I am envious, I would love to speak at a Rip Conf, however, not many would enjoy listening to the psychological rants of a young adult .
Of coarse, there is hope, I just a week ago sent an application for admission to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and I await my faite. I have a few scholorships and I just figured out that if I do get my essay published, that it might as well help me get accepted into the University.

Is it cool or pathetic? You be the judge. LOL. How it happened was in the '90's I had some Ripper books and one mentioned Casebook, so I went up to the nearby library that had just had computers put in and figured out how to access the internet. The first URL I typed in was for Casebook. It was love at first site...and I don't mean with Spryder's photo!

I think for me too casebook was kinda love at first sight. I was perusing True Crime libraries online and noticed casebook through that. Immediately I was completely impressed by the richness of the sources posted here. I kept perusing infrequently for about 2 years, I started reading the threads, then it became all the more frequent, and 3 months ago I signed in. Since then I don't think I've missed a single day checking out casebook! Besides casebook and JTRForums I'm not a member of any other forums, just the forum for the Paris Surf Club (of all things!), where we rarely post anything more than pics and surfvideos, and what is discussed is just the planning of the next weekend trip.Best regards,

I have to admit that I have never joined such a briliant community that has both burned up my bordom and changed my life. The past christmass, was as I recall, one of the greatest so far, and it was my first casebook holiday!
Of coarse alot of people from that fun christmas have dissapeared somewhat(Archiac, David(DVV), and many others).
