Today I went into a charity bookshop, after I had spent a few mins looking for histiry and true crime an assistant asked me what I was looking for.

I said JTR books, the assistant said "golly what a coincidence, someone came in a few days ago and said their father was a , I think he called it ripperologist, the father had just died and would we like the books. We said yes and they are in a box out the back"

I said how many books are there, she replied about 10 I think.
So before I had seen them I said will 30 pounds do?
She said yes and gave me a big box.

I got home and the box contained -

Yes, My first Ripper books were Cullen's. Won't say how long ago that was. LOL.

His style was more like a novel, which made it, to me, very captivating. I had to learn in time what some of the real truth was.

A great purchase. Is there any indication of who the orginal owner might have been?

It took me a lot more than £30 to acquire that lot.

I think Doris is lying to us. I won't be satisfied that he has what is claimed until he ships them to me for inspection. Photos won't cut it either, I'm afraid.

I have ploughed through all the T Cullen books.
They are amusing, in their way, but hardly factual.

MJK was pregnant apparantly!

And as for William Beadles book.
I thought it was awful.

It seemed to be written by someone who viewed the world through the distorting lens of 60s/70s left wing beliefs.

As though wolfie from the tooting popular front wrote it.

Everyone who lived in Victorian times and wasnt the lowest of the low stole bread from the mouths of 'the workers' every day, anyone who killed animals for pleasure and food was evil.

And to add insult to injury he appears to think that anyone who is interested in JTR (ripperphiles he calles them) is beyond contempt!

And his writing style is dreadful.

I wouldnt reccomend his book to anyone.

Mind you Iam about to read Knight's book, so the worse is probably to come.

Sounds like you're having a very good time, Doris. But, if you read that many books so close together, are you ever going to be confused. You won't remember which theory is whose at the end. You'd better make notes.
