I watched Stardust last night - expected it to be far worse than it was - I liked it! Particularly the dead brothers ongoing commentary on the action

A bit of a pastiche, I think and it gets my vote because I thought it was clever and funny - it might even get a place on my shelf!

I loved Stardust, but then I like Neil Gaiman.

Oddly enough, I couldn't get into the book, but I thought the movie was amazing

I saw Stardust by mistake, one dreary sunday afternoon and actually liked it very much, the dead brothers' commentary is really good, but so I thought was De Niro, didn't expect him to be such a good comedian.
First class acting all around, I felt.

I have to agree. I was very taken with it - most impressed. I tried to engage my daughter in it, but no, she wandered off and it was just me and Dolly, I'm afraid...

I saw Pan's Labyrinth the other day too, and am still thinking about it - a difficult film to watch.

What Dreams May Come had me crying buckets! I love that film! It is the one with Robin Williams in, isn't it? Was ages ago i saw it...i must put it back on my rental list to watch it again.

One of my favourite bits, has this big beefy bearded Viking guy, sitting round the campfire with the others, giving them the benefit of his wisdom about women.

One of them asks him how he knows so much about women...

He replies, in his deep beefy voice, "I used to be one."

watched a DVD last night...

called Faintheart.

It was a lovely gentle comedy...people who liked Spaced will like it I think...it also had Jessica Hynes in (from Spaced)...absolutely loved the gentle mockery of the Star Trek obsessions, and the accidental date haha!

A few of my friends went to see Star Trek, they are self confessed Trekkies, and slated/hated the trailers. I asked what they thought, and whilst one of them stuck to his guns, the others almost cried!

We watched The Day The Earth Stood Still recently, it was the remake, not the original, and really bad! I wish the Studio who greenlit the movie would have stood still!

Awful film!

I went to see the new Star Trek movie last night.

I'm not a trekkie, so I didn't go prepared to trash the movie, and I thought it was really good.

Simon Pegg was great as Scotty, and the guy playing McCoy was brilliant.

The guy playing Chekov had the fakest Russian accent I've ever heard--Ironic, since he was born in Leningrad.

They tinkered with the Star Trek universe a little, but I think it was for the better.

I'd be interested to hear how trekkers respond to it.

the worst part, just a non event.
