  • Restaurant Owner Asks Trump's Press Secretary to Leave

I'm certainly not a big fan of Trump or his press secretary but in my opinion the actions of the restaurant owner were just tacky and no class. EVERYBODY needs to lighten up.

Well, it's her restaurant, so she can do what she likes - assuming that there's no ridiculous law against 'political discrimination' over there.

What's depressing is that a supposedly respectable newspaper would use the infantile phrase 'call out.'

      Hello Robert,

I agree. It is her restaurant and she can do what she wants. There are no legal issues involved such as discrimination (she wasn't refused service and was asked to leave) but I still think the owner went off the deep end and acted like a horse's behind.

        Hi CD

Well, it might be just her personal feelings, or maybe she's worried about keeping her staff, or perhaps she's calculated that she'll get more anti-Trump customers than she'll lose pro-Trump customers - or maybe some combination of the three. According to the article, she didn't fly into hysterics - it was all done very politely.

I'm kinda undecided on this but I would say that its not good when the mood of the country results in people being asked to leave from restaurants.

I'd have done exactly the same thing if someone had walked into my restaurant and asked for a cheeseboard as a starter.

              Poor, poor stuff.

The hatred of these progressives should show all Liberals they are not political allies.

              The Hypocrisy is astounding.

Is the hatred of "non-progressives" any better?
                Kind regards, Sam Flynn

If I ran a restaurant the menu would read :

                  Starters - breakfast fry-up
                  Dinner - bangers and mash
Dessert - knickerbocker glory and a nice pot of tea

Special helpings of jellied eels for Americans
Mega helping of black pudding for Ally

No, there is just less of it.

Do you really think so? History, I believe, has taught us otherwise.

Well we could go down the Hitler v Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot etc route if you wish, however I find such discussion facile.

I'm talking about the here and now.

Indeed. Sarah was thrilled with the idea of refusing to sell wedding cakes to gays, etc. but when a private restaurant owner refuses HER service, she is suddenly scandalized. Her father, Mike Huckabee, even called it 'discrimination.' Really? According to the owner, Sarah was refused service for being a liar that lacked compassion. Are self-indulgent liars now a protected class under Trump?

Let's keep it real. Had Sanders been a ' bleeding heart Liberal,' we all know that Trump would have tweeted something along the lines of "well, the pig looks like she could have stood to skip a meal or two anyway!' and his followers would have LOVED him for it. Every day in every way Sarah's boss sows discord: taunts, insults, vulgarity, transparently false statements. So pretending to be shocked that our society is increasingly divided is ridiculous. Trump loves division and conflict and confrontation. It's his entire shtick. It's what got him elected. These sad events won't end until the U.S. elects someone who demands civility and practices it.

There is enough acting like a horse's behind on all sides to go around.
