Populism is a fad. It can't handle reality because it is so far removed from it. It is in a state of perpetual science denial and bared faced lying. Which is why when the law gets involved, things start getting very real and you can't just bullshit on Twitter anymore.

Well if you prefer logic then it doesn't matter what you or I think about Bannon or what he has to say but what Mueller thinks about what he has to say. He is going through Trump's team like butter because you can lie to people from a podium and you can lie on TV and you can lie on twitter but if you lie under oath to law enforcement like the FBI then things get very real, very fast. It's deadly serious stuff. Look at Manafort. He is going to be old leaving jail. Look at Cohen. He knows he must do some jail time for criminal offenses. Plus look at Trump's finance revelations. No big surprises there. NYC want him to pay it all back.

What this all does is shift the midterms to blue which means Trump will no longer have the backing of all Senate members. That blue wave will be voting for things Trump doesn't want them voting for... including his future.

Mueller will conclude that Trump fired the FBI to protect his son who was exposed to Russian infiltration and leave it to the Senate to decide after the mid-terms. This is why Populists want the probe finished with fast. That isn't going to happen, because it looks like all these characters are quite frankly crap at being able to hide anything.

Populism is a brand of politics that we have known under another name called Authoritarianism. A regime that centralizes power and limits freedoms.

The thing is whatever they claim usually turns out mostly be a pack of lies, especially about themselves and this means they have what is called a weak legitimacy. They may have democratically got where they are but are they really good enough for that position? That's why their tenures are generally very short lived... unless you are the Chinese Communist Party which puts things in place legally to prevent successions from failing. If Populists could do that it that way, they would. It's all authoritarian rule. Meaning you are less free.

A Presidential election is completely different from the mid-terms. You saw this with Obama who had a mostly Republican Senate to deal with. So who wins the Presidency doesn't determine who gets a Senate majority.

The question you should ask is if things are moving smoothly outside of Washington for politicians around the country. Hence my prior question when I started posting here asking... has Moore conceded yet?

There are obviously swing voters who are simply asking themselves, was my life better or worse after Trump got elected. Simple as that. Same with Obama. Was their life better or worse after he got elected, each time? Populism doesn't care about that. Trump's base is all about Trump no matter what. However, the swing voters that got him into power do care about stuff in their lives over support of a politician. They are voting in the mid-terms. Also, how many of them trust the stock market as an indicator after their 401Ks tanked back in 2008 and want to support a 'trade war'.

Look at the trade China is attacking. They are basically targetting the production of the goods of people who voted for Trump. Do you know what that means? It means they don't care economically what goods they are considering in their retaliation but are betting their economy on that very blue wave.
