    Most original musical artists/bands of all time

    I know literally hundreds of artists could go on here, but I'm listing the dozen IMHO the most original/innovative/unique artists of all time.
    In no particular order:

    Hank Williams-father of Honkey Tonk and his music was one step away from Rock and roll.

    Bob Marley and the Wailers-invented Reggae

    The Ramones-Fathers of Punk Rock

    The Doors-nothing like them before or since-wacky combo of rock, jazz, blues, pop, psychedelic, spoken word/poetry. My favorite band.

    Chuck Berry-father of Rock and Roll

    Allman Bros-Southern rock innovators

    Black Sabbath-first of the real heavy metal bands and invented the riff.

    Pink Floyd-I don't know what to say here--just Pink Floyd LOL!

    Grateful Dead-they were a movement, or a cult, let alone a band.

    The Beach Boys-created(or at least popularized) surf music-theyre vocal harmonies never duplicated.

    B52s-New wave masters. and just one of the coolest bands ever.

    Jimi Hendrix-no need to say more

    Honorable mention-The Who, Dick Dale-king of the surf guitar, Nirvana, David Bowie, the velvet underground, Kraftwerk, Devo

    who you got? (lets try to keep it to the more famous ones, as the list gets to infinity if we include anybody nobodys heard of). : )

                          Google - or YouTube - is your friend. The Bonzos, in particular, were wonderful. Don't be put off by the fact that they were a "comedy" outfit; their music is great.

                          Focus were hugely inventive, and massively talented. It's worth listening to their other stuff - not just their one hit

                            I think Focus had a hit with 'Sylvia' too.

                            Sparks are the American duo Ron and Russell Mael, better known in Britain and Europe than in the US. They always come up with something different.

                              Popularised Reggae for the mass market, definitely didn't invent it. Should really be in the honourable mentions.

                              Not a fan at all, found the music to obvious and derivative.

                              Nirvana, Velvets and Devo are far more than honourable mentions.

                              Kraftwerk are top five in any list. Their influence changed the music world, literally!
