Hi Dougie: I can assure you hadn't taken it that way. It was meant as a joke. Was going to put a LOL after it, but understand this can be interpreted as Lots Of Love, which I aint sending you!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Hi all

I noticed several things - like we have to work our way up in the ranks again.
Several of the old threads have been salvaged, and have popped up.

Whether or not they are drivel is anyone's call. I confess that about forty percent of mine is pure drivel...but it is serious pure drivel!

I really can't imagine what is gained by breaking into our website and causing this kind of confusion. Someone ways that it is a power thing for some computer geek to do to others like this. I keep imagining that a descendant of Jack had a sealed envelope with instructions that if we had not guessed his identity by Valentine's Day 2008, they were to step in and destroy the web site to teach us whose boss (or should I say "Dear Boss"?).

By the way, have you noticed that the "Smilies" on the side, if you type them in - the face does not pop up until the message actually gets onto the board. Instead a description will pop up for most of them.

        Best wishes,

        Jeff

              Granger:

I thought LOL meant: Lots of Luck !

I hate abreviations, because I usually end up making my own meanings. For LOL I had convinced myself it was Lots of Luck... not Lots Of Love, I suppose it could also mean Lots of Luck too. Why not ?

The standard meaning of LOL is "Laughing Out Loud", I believe. It's a less colourful version of that other common abbreviation, ROTFLMAO ("Rolling on the floor, laughing my arse off").
                Kind regards, Sam Flynn

At the beginning I thought that LOL meant: Little Old Lady, except that the person who always used to sign LOL was in her twenties !
