(with apologies to Peter, Paul, and Mary): "PIERRE THE MAGIC POSTER"

    Pierre the magic poster
    lived in Cyber-space,
    and frolicked in Victorian fog,
    on a site called Casebook.

Many posters loved that rascal Pierre,
they brought him clues and clippings,
    plans and other fancy things.
Together they would sail from thread to thread,
    and when debunkers called,
Pierre roared out his mighty song-- "I know the Name, I do,
but I cannot tell it yet!"

Then one gray day it happened,
    the posters came no more,
    Pierre, that mighty Poster,
    ceased his metaphorical roar.
His head was high, for he said,
    "I cannot be provoked!"

    At least Puff were real.

    Not like ole Pierre.

But in a very real sense, Pierre is a "drag on " this whole board!

        No, because I am metaphorical.

            They seek him here,
            They seek him there,
            Those Frenchies seek him everywhere.
Is he in heaven or down in the pit?
            Frankly, mon Pierre, I don't give a.......!
I won't always agree but I'll try not to be disagreeable.

Posters should note that Pierre did an early training run to prepare for the JTR job :

He certainly did - one wonders if he thinks JTR is a brontosaurus?

There was a young man named Pierre
Who one day did stand and declare:
                    'The Ripper is found,
                    The despicable hound,
One day I might just tell you where.'

There is a strange man called Pierre
Though he may as well be Fred Astaire
                      He leads us a dance
                      Just on the chance
He has something important to share

                        Oh dear Pierre
                        You leave me in despair.
                        Every time you post
I feel the battle is lost!
                        The blood in Mitre square
Proves that Catherine was murdered there.
                        Think before writing
                        Should be your motto
                        From wherever you hide
                        in your little grotto.

Why a "lost battle" or "think before writing"? Because of a question about Mitre Square? You will loose many battles since I will pose many questions.

                          Regards, Pierre

Definitely Swedish. Swedes always have problems with "lose" and "loose". (Fisherman excepted of course). Just a guess on my part, naturally.

                              and yet the air stills
                              silence broadens yawns and ends
                              nonsense laid open
