The "Introducing the Suspects" for the first time ever allowed me to see MONTAGUE JOHN DRUITT as a real possibility for JTR. His beautiful mother was confined to an asylum, and insanity ran in his family. If he went to visit his mother from either his home or his office he would have gone through Whitechapel. It would be very interesting to know which dates he visited his mother -- if such a record ever existed. I can sympathize with the horrors of a visit, then stopping for a few drinks on his way home and encountering the victims, all still out, free, and maybe accosting him for "a date". Yep, I can almost understand his fury at the unfairness of it all. Never before had Druitt even felt like a possibility before.
