    Hi Everyone

Does anyone know where a copy of the above book (written by C Scott) can be bought? I am having trouble tracking it down.

Thanks - keep safe and take care.

They don't come up for sale often. Just keep your eyes peeled on AbeBooks & Ebay.

A bit of trivia- Chris finished a second edition in 2012 but it was left unpublished.

Best bring your wallet. This one is for $800 Canadian. I've seen another copy recently for $900.

Whoa! I've heard it's a good resource, but $800. Just a tiddly bit more than I wanted to pay.

              That's a shame.

I had thought that books would not go out of print in these days of digital eternity, but this book doesn't appear to have a digital version.

Loved listening to Chris on Rippercast! He certainly knew his stuff.

I'm sure there was a copy going on Amazon UK for about £50 not too long ago, but now sold.

                  Best bet is a library?

                    Absolutely!
The book can be requested via any public Library, they will be able to request it from any of the 6 deposit libraries, British Library, Bodleian etc.

Which eventually, sadly, will be the only libraries that haven't been shut down, for "austerity" measures.

Don't get me started on that one Al.
I spent my entire working life in libraries, and I'm scared of what is round the corner for public libraries.

Prediction: The vast majority, if not all of the libraries which will close in the future will be in deprived working class areas.
                        Plus ça change!

Never thought of that - duh! Thanks, that seems a good suggestion.

There is a ray of light for enterprising libraries thanks to covid-19. A number of employers are seriously thinking of 'working from home' as the new normal. A fair number of people are not best set up to work from home, some people in flatshares for instance. If libraries can establish a work friendly space for people to use - at a price the employer can pay - they have a potentially lucrative income source - might help with them keeping afloat.

Maybe they could clear out some of them ruddy books while they're at it, cluttering the place up.
