One of the departments I lead at work is a library(so should really have thought of using one without prompting) - the demand for physical books and physical visits is on an increasingly downward trend - remote digital requests are on the increase and the professional services of Librarians is also increasing - we are certainly re-imagining the role of the Library and what it might look like in the future.I should add it is an academic library mostly used by students, researchers and professors so our experience may not be the same as a public library. Also, we do not have the added pressure of relying on the public purse. But there are a number of parallels.
