Believe it or not Trobert the scenes that made it to the final edit were recreations. Each scene was actually filmed numerous times and the version shown is from numerous different versions cut together to form a narrative that looks seamless.
He had a dossier of all the newspaper reports, inquest reports and official files to study before hand.
Which one do you imagine he was unaware of?
His name was Andy not Adam.

Who provided the dossier?

Blink - but Griffths read around it anyway.
But anyway - tell me what fact he was unaware about that would have changed his opinion.
The basic fact is that as we know that Charles Lechmere was found by the body, and as we have absolutely no information to suggest that he was cleared, no other suspect can get traction until Lechmere is cleared.
In simple criminological terms he is the top suspect.
No one else could be prosecuted without Lechmere being eliminated.
That was another one of Andy Griffiths insights.

Hi,
Excuse my lack of Knowledge on this suspect but have been out of the loop for a while. But could someone answer the following.
1. Why didnt the police at the time think him a likely JTR ?
2. Why go to all the bother of trying to confuse with his identity, whilst giving his correct address, also wouldnt he have been checked out ? If not why not ?
3. I am certain that I read a book many many years back naming Lechmere ( or maybe Paul ) as a suspect....anyone comfirm this please ?
Regards.

2. He didn't give a false name. He gave an alternative family name. Exactly, none off the Lechmere brigade can answer this. If you just murder someone you are going to give a completely different name. A false address and a false place of work. Lechmere did none of this.
3. Nothing springs to mind and I have read most if not all the books.
