There's no evidence to link that shawl to Eddowes.
There's no testable DNA that oould have survived on that shawl
The shawl is open to cross contamination unless it is continuously stored in an airtight moisture free environment
it is impossible to precisely pinpoint and identify an individual through their DNA after so much relative time and generational separation
The Dott letter is a blatant fake that has been done to push the agenda
There is no evidence whatsoever that Kozminski was the Ripper
Based on all of that, there's bound to be a new inquest that concludes Kosminski was the Ripper.
Throw enough money at it and the British justice system will always find a way to blame whoever is pushed into the spotlight.
It would be great if a descendant of Kosminski fought back and was able to sue, for deformation of their ancestors character.
Such a pathetic and ridiculous episode.
it took me around 5 seconds of seeing and hearing the man holding that shawl to realise it's all a sham
Saddening, because the movement to persecute innocent men like Kosminski, Lechmere and Maybrick, is not about truth or justice; it's about men with little integrity and big egos, making money and becoming famous for telling lies.
Just like a politician.

There's also the issue that the DNA test that was given can only exclude a suspect from consideration. It can't identify a specific person.
We went through all of this several years ago. I don't understand why it's being talked about again now. As far as I can tell, there's no new evidence. Is it just because they've decided to hold a mock inquest? Based on evidence that was debunked years ago?

One reason I liked the recent "The Trial of Jack the Ripper" was that the mock jury heard arguments against three suspects and chose the one they found most likely. Of course we can argue why these three and if they made the right decision, but at least they heard skilled arguments against three reasonable suspects.
The fact is, a skilled Ripperologist probably could get a mock jury to return an indictment against any single reasonable suspect. It's like reading a suspect book and becoming convinced that the suspect is Jack the Ripper, until you read another suspect book...

Wouldn't those doing the DNA test on the shawl have to have DNA samples from Eddowes and Kosminski descendents to compare to the DNA on the shawl to come to a definite conclusion??
It's all over the Internet today, but, I have yet to see it on a newscast.

I can't believe the headlines of semi-legitimate news outlets here in the United States are actually running with:
"Scarf is 100% DNA match with descendant!"
...oh, really? Are they a clone?
But the best part, to me, is that the scarf is Russian silk and 11 feet long.
It's not a scarf. It's a tablecloth.

LOL... No, it's not my first post, but it has been quite a while since I've posted. I assume my posts have been archived, deleted, or buried by other posts.
Life happens. I pop in once in a while to play catch up.
Unfortunately I went down a Jeff Mudgett rabbit hole for a while. I came to my senses and saw through his outright lies (or what I considered, perceived, as lies) after having many conversations with him and watching his ridiculous podcast. My last straw with him was that on his podcast, he unveiled "the" knife used by JTR. A knife that he said was given to him by his father that had been in the hands of various family members and ended up eventually in his hands. When I would try to talk to him about it he would change the subject. (As if it never happened) then the podcast disappeared from the internet.
My conclusion is that he was/is in it for the fame and money, no matter how he has to get it. (This is just my opinion on the HH Holmes theory). His great-great grandson Jeff Mudgett squashed it for me, true or not.

"Mr Edwards, who was Aaron Kosminski? Take me through the process that led you to him."
"Sure, eeeerm, the name Aaron Kosminski was actually given to me by Scotland Yard..."
Scotland Yard? Well, there we are then. Slam dunk, as they say. Case closed. Bang to rights. Move along please, Ladies & Gentlemen. Nothing more to see here.
The name Russell Edwards could have been given to me by the comedian Alexei Sayle. Move along now. No more murderers here, thank you very much.
Oh, and in case you're still a Doubting Thomas, we are kindly provided with a photo of the murderous Ripper. "The picture you're showing there - he's 16." he tells the world, accidentally forgetting to also tell the world that it's an image he concocted - or had concocted - quite recently.
I can't wait for the next publication to be released. I'm hoping we'll get actual videos of the actual events, that have lain hidden on a USB stick in a loft, have been handed down through families for almost 150 years. Yes, nobody knew that JtR had a Go-Pro headcam, did they? Naaahhhh. Well he did.For now we see through a glass darkly, but then, face to face.
Now I know in part, but then shall I know even as also I am known.
