  • I'd like to take this opportunity in thanking all of you...

Back in September of last year, I posted that I wanted to do a short film about Jack the Ripper. I really didn't know much about the victims or anything that deals with the Ripper or the 1888 Whitechapel murders. Now, 5 months later, I feel like I know too much thanks to you people and for answering all my questions.

Never have I been in a forum where everyone was nice and not one sight of a troll, trolling these forums. After 5 months, I feel like I'm ready to actually begin filming my little short and I hope to do a good job on it. I have thank you all, this site and the authors of all the books I've read that deals with the subject. I will offer a very Special Thanks to you all in my film, and I hope to continue to learn more about this interesting topic of discussion and continue posting on here.

Some of you are probably wondering, who is this guy? And I know, I haven't been here long, 5 months to be exact, but like I said, I hope to continue posting here and continue learning about the Ripper murders.

I have decided to make my film, a modernization of the final hours of Mary Jane Kelly. No not a copycat killer, a modernization. I hope to use the knowledge I've learned about this case and put it into this film, I'll even post it on here when it's ready. The title of the movie is "Scarlett".

    Wish me luck...
    Scarlett (2010) (Completed)

Witness a modernized retelling of London's most gruesome mutilation, the murder of Mary Jane Kelly at the hands of the notorious serial killer, Jack the Ripper.

    Hi DT

We do get trolls here but they are quickly chewed up and spat out.

    Good luck with your movie.

Oh, really? I've never noticed. Got to pay more attention, I guess. Haha. And thanks.

Who are you going to get to play the ambidextrous, anti-semitic, unemployed,, stutter minded, seafaring, Polish Jew, doctor working part time in the royal family's newly plastered butcher shop at the masonic lodge?

Since I don't have a clue how I would cast the character in ANY time period, it will be fun to find out what you choose to do with him.

Good luck with the project, Phil.

              I'm a good actor.
I can play both Elephant Man and Elizabeth Prater - so that you would save money, DTP.

Thank you. And I have the perfect actor to play him. But the way I'm going to portray the Ripper is that I won't reveal his past. He's just a hurricane that comes in does what he has to do and takes his leave.

So whether he's in the Royal Family or a Polish Jew, won't be revealed in the film.

The movie will focus more on Mary Jane Kelly and Joseph Barnett's relationship.

Sorry to insist, but here again, I can play both.
I'm far too charming for Blotchy, but I can recomment other posters.

                          Hi DT,

I'm a newbie here so I don't think I can accept your thanks, but I feel at home here too after just a couple of months of posting.

"a modernization of the final hours of Mary Jane Kelly. No not a copycat killer, a modernization."

And I think that is just a great Idea.....good luck with the production.....I know how hard it can be....but your premise is sound and I'm sure plenty of the good folk of casebook would love to see the final product.

Charming, you are, but I insist that Blotchy have a carroty mustache, which I don't think you have. Now, Prater? Has possibilities.

Besides, everyone knows DarkTales is really Johnny Depp. (Just kidding, DTP!)

                              Hi Cel,

                              thanks!
True, I've got a red Cadillac... and a black moustache.
                              As in Warren Smith's song.

But with my usual vacant expression, I'd make a unforgettable Fleming.

                              Amitiés ma chère,
