  • >> Its supposed that Wess translated for him ... <<

It's also supposed that Vincent Van Gogh was jtr!

Is there ANY evidence what so ever to support the claim that Wess translated? Given Wess's lack of accurate knowledge about the issue in the Echo interview and lack of his mentioning it at the inquest, clearly not.

      • From this and the other thread, it's becoming clear that you have a fundamental misunderstanding of things.

        • I've never understood the necessity of a cover-up or conspiracy since this was not the first murder in Whitechapel that Fall. Why would suspicion immediately fall upon the club when there had been other murders in the same area? I also don't see how a conspiracy was a superior option to simply cooperating with the police when a conspiracy could blow up in their face.

          • I wasn't sure, so I just checked, Eagle and Wess had full time jobs as well.

We know up till, at least late November, police were circulating Schwartz's description to the police stations across the country.
Again, too bad they didnt show such confidence in him at the Inquest into Liz Strides cause of death. Would have saved me lots of posts reminding people where his statement belongs based on that little .

Be that as it may, I sincerely doubt that too many folks present that night thought that this might be a PR disaster for their own club, never mind every such club in London.
The police themselves called the people at this club anarchists, not socialists, so no matter how benign you feel they were Sam, people who didnt like immigrant Jews and apparently the police would have been quite happy to have them go away.

VVG eh..I guess that explains the ear bit. Wess translated for Goldstein, he knew Israel, thats why I said its probable he did. But perhaps you have different conclusions.

Eagle was a paid speaker at the club, Wess was employed publishing his Arbeter Fraint from the grounds of the club....why do I have to post just the bleeding obvious to counter your posts I wonder. Contrary just for the sake of it?

People including Anderson had apparently concluded that the killer was a local Jew, you have a club full of them...and you have chalk writing rubbed out because the police knew how entrenched antisemitism was at that time. These same men, at that same location, attacked the police with clubs and were arrested within 6 months...please fasten your seatbelts and extract your head from the sand.

Nice you try and check facts for some opinions you have. Cant fault you for that.

The police obviously discredited Fanny Mortimer's statement since she did not appear at the inquest. You can't have it both ways, Michael.

Michael, is it really necessary to include snarky little comments in virtually all of your posts? It is very annoying.

You make it sound like the Atheneum or the Garrick Club, when it was little more than a repurposed house. Who's to say that the post of steward wasn't purely voluntary? Even if it weren't, Dymshitz is quite likely to have received mere pennies for his efforts, and then on club nights only.
                                Kind regards, Sam Flynn
