  • Mary Ann and the door

    Hiya all
In Mary Ann Cox's statement she answers a couple of questions thus:

[Coroner] The chin was shaven ? - Yes. A lamp faced the door.

[Coroner] Did you see them go into her room ? - Yes; I said "Good night, Mary," and she turned round and banged the door.

    and

[Coroner] You say she was drunk ? - I did not notice she was drunk until she said good night. The man closed the door.

I wonder-as she had a pretty clear view and didn't mention that Mary had to reach through a broken window to open the door-it would imply the door had been left open?

Sorry if this has been mentioned on another thread.
