In Mary Ann Cox's statement she answers a couple of questions thus:
[Coroner] The chin was shaven ? - Yes. A lamp faced the door.
[Coroner] Did you see them go into her room ? - Yes; I said "Good night, Mary," and she turned round and banged the door.
and
[Coroner] You say she was drunk ? - I did not notice she was drunk until she said good night. The man closed the door.
I wonder-as she had a pretty clear view and didn't mention that Mary had to reach through a broken window to open the door-it would imply the door had been left open?
