Perhaps you can point us in the direction of the specific corroboration of the prices quoted by the PMG. And let us in on the reason why you chose to use a newspaper report of a newspaper report rather than the more reliable source you discovered.

Now you see in your haste to be a smart arse you didnt read my original post correctly where I stated that there was corroboration to both legal and illegal trade in organs from mortuaries. The legal side relates to organs available under the guise of The Anatomy Act.

Of course, what the ‘mysterious American’ was said to have asked for was a number of uteri, preserved in glycerine instead of the usual alcohol, and ‘sent to America direct’.

It’s a newspaper report. It supports your ‘own personal beliefs’. And you use it to contradict Coroner Baxter.

Presumably it isn’t in your book because that would go against your principles.

I am aware of that article and I do make reference to it in my book but I have also referred to other materials to support that same belief.

and for the record i have always postulated that newspapers articles are unsafe unless there is specific corroboration, which in the case of this article there clearly is and clear evidence that there was a lucrative trade in legal and illegal organs from mortuaries in 1888.
