I'm planning to have a look in a couple of weeks and plan on bringing some back up with me. Only she doesn't know it yet

Philip,
I mooched back in May. Problem was there was another guy mooching at the same time.
I looked at him, he looked at I. It was a scene out of a spaghetti western.
He then gave me a knowing look. I didnt know what he knew but I knew enough to know I didnt want to know.
So I went down Abel Buildings and danced amongst the excrement.
Oh my life is thrilling.

Have you read '84 Charing Cross Road'?
I spent a lot of time in the British Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum, and I did some antique shopping out on Edgeware Rd & in Camden Town, but toured no Ripper sites, I'm afraid.
I was with my older sister and all she wanted to do was shop for clothes & stupid souvenirs and drink endless cups of coffee, which I thought was a total waste of time, so I refused & went off my own to places like the Egyptian Gallery at the British Museum and had a grand time!
I hope to get back to England fairly soon.
The book you mentioned, "84 Charing Cross" I believe is about antique book sellers, but I don't know much more than that... Do you think I should read it?
Thanks, Archaic

I told Philip it was a shame he didn't go there a few weeks earlier as it would have looked good in the book.Still you need a bit of luck with some of these closed off site. Thankfully I had the luck of getting into the Harry Gosling School and getting several excellent photos of the Dutfields Yard site.

I was surprised at my luck, Stephen! Mooching can be very rewarding.

Now, you won't have seen this often so here's a photo I took of the INSIDE of Swallow Gardens just over a week ago, looking towards the Chamber Street entrance. Yep, I got myself in there.
It's not great quality because it's pitch black inside and I've used PhotoShop Elements to restore some brightness, which has affected the grain. Still, you won't have seen this before!

You know, Phil, to really do it right you need to back there at night... alone...
But I'm sure you can get Rob to stand on the opposite side of the street and film you from a distance...
Then if anything happens, at least he might be able to recover your camera
Wish I could visit these places in person, but, alas, I have to do my exploring vicariously through you guys!
Sigh... Archaic

You can get in if you find the right place and ask permission from the employee on site from that access point. I'm not positive on the location on the body, but I think it's central N to S on the image and just to the right of centre, about the nearest point of the raised concrete dias.

That's a very cool photo, Phil, well done.
How did it feel in there? Creepy?
Cheers, Archaic
