    Hi everyone,
Im planning a trip to London in Arpil/May to visit the grave sites of the canonical five. I visited Mary Kellys grave 20years ago, but dont know where the rest are.
    Anyone interested in coming?

Six months ago I did an extensive one-day solo Ripper tour that included three of the gravesites. One was Mary Kelly which you're familiar with, and the other two were Mary Ann Nicholls and Catherine Eddowes who are only yards from each other in the City of London Cemetery at Manor Park (but not to be confused, I understand, with Manor Park Cemetery which is nearby). I followed very concise directions as to which trains to take, etc. which were posted here on Casebook but right now I'm not exactly sure where. I know it involved leaving the tube system but was still covered by a London Travel Pass. There is a piece under Victims with some information on gravesites at http://www.casebook.org/victims/graves.html.

What I remember about my trip to the City of London Cemetery is the rather long walk there from the train station, through an area that seems so rural one does not feel like you are in London anymore. Also, I highly advise you to ask for a map when you first reach the cemetery gates, as it is very easy to take the wrong path and get lost. Somewhere I have the info on the exact designation of where the graves are there but its all "buried" at the moment (pardon the pun). It shouldn't be too hard to find online.

Lots of luck to you! I crammed way too much into one day when I did it and it definitely took a toll on me physically but it was well worth it.

      Have a look here,
Movies, TV shows , documentaries and other visual media devoted or referencing Jack the Ripper.

There are several videos of the Graves, containing information on where they are, and the locations within the cemeteries.

      Enjoy your visit.

Ive just got back from my solo tour of the grave sites. Many thanks to Mike and kensei for the advice.
For those who havent been before, Pollys and Catherines gravemarkers are in the lovely, but rather vast City Of London Cem. Bit of a walk from the station, but nice little cafe by the entrance. Unfortunately, when I visited, the groundstaff were all hard at work tending the rosebushes, so wasnt that peaceful for quiet contemplation.
You can visit Annies grave at Manor Park Cem using the same station. The cem is nice and the staff very polite, but despite the lady in the office showing me the approx area of grave 78 on a little display they have there in the office about Annie, I forgot to ask the plot number! so didnt find it in the end.
Was too knackered to visit Liz's grave. Marys grave is lovely and peaceful, with coins,a teddy and crucifix left by wellwishers, with a haunting inscription.
          RIP

            Hi Warspite

The exact position of Annie Chapman's grave is almost impossible to tell now.

The graves were re-dug sometime during the 1980's.

Its a shame you didn't make Liz Strides which is probably he last left pretty much where it should be. Hope you enjoyed your visit.

              Thanks Pirate Jack,
Ill definitely try to find Liz Strides grave next time. Regarding Annie Chapmans, the folks at the cem office gave me a photocopied photo of a fairly large square someone had framed out on the ground over the approx site, only approx I know but would have been nice to find.
              Cheers

                Hi

Ive been to all of them apart from Chapmans grave, as its not there, like said above....

Stride's is in a nice position, infact we saw woodpeckers on the trees behind the stones, plenty of nature...took a bit of finding but its a nice grave, if nice can be a word to describe a grave!

Ironically, just behind Strides grave was a mass burial site, with a tomb, the people are from St Botolphs in Aldgate, the so called 'Prostitutes church'

For the first time on monday afternoon I myself visited St.Patricks to Mary Jane Kelly's grave and I was struck by the sadness of it all. However it was also lovely to see that now in 2013 almost 2 months and 125 years shy to the day she was buried here, mourners will still show how much she is in peoples thoughts.

I took a couple of pictures at the time. If i can grasp how to upload them up on here I will post them

Thank you very much Robert and Stephen. Unfortunately the photos I took are too big so I will have to resize or find another way
