for first time visitors I would suggest getting off the tube at Leyton. I made the mistake of getting off just abit further down at Leytonstone

Thanks Clive. From your grave photo, it looks as though the lettering needs a touch-up, with "None but" in bold but the following word being faint. I think they used to insert lead lettering in the stones, which gradually fall out. Nowadays I think they use some kind of laser or something like that.

You are welcome Robert and thank you for the info about image guidelines. Managed to succeed in the end through persistence and a resize. If there is will then there is certainly a way!

I am sorry I didn't get a closer pic of the lettering but I will get a better , closer look next time I go in October. But yes IT does need a touch up.

I had a reasonably good idea of where Mary lay and all I needed to do was to look out for the footballer boy statue a plot or two from the left of her. It was still abit of a job to find her as the cemetery is so vast and graves and memorials so numerous
