    Hello (again) Nick.

"It's not definitive evidence but it strongly suggests she was 'working'."

Yup, talking to a man. Definitely prostitution. Case closed.

    Cheers.

      Hello Michael. Thanks.

"Socratic questioning does not work well here. . ."

Socratic questioning ALWAYS works well. We should employ it more and cut through our prejudicial nonsense.

      ". . . because it's a tremendous 'if' you are talking about."

      Rubbish. Flip a coin.

      Cheers.

      • The Flower

        1. We don't know that was even Liz. He saw no flower.
Do we know that Stride already had the flower at this time (midnight)? If not what is its relevance in determining whether or not the woman seen by Marshall was Stride?
I won't always agree but I'll try not to be disagreeable.

        • Hi Bridewell

Best noticed the flower pinned to the woman he saw at 11p.m.

            Hi Colin.
John Gardner saw her wearing the flower about 11:00 pm, at the Bricklayers Arms.

Oops, sorry Observer, didn't see your post.

              Very little.

"The fact of the matter is that the police concluded that she was an unfortunate. You might speculate that their methods for making such a determination were wide of the mark but ultimately that remains just speculation."

Just like all the chat about solicitation.

              Cheers.

              Hello Lynn,

It seems like you can accept the fact that Liz was a prostitute in theory but not in practice. A theoretical prostitute if you will.

Because the fracas was out on the pavement.

                Cheers.

Yes, but that is all Schwartz witnessed. He would have no way of knowing what took place after he left. I fail to see how that gives him a Pinocchio nose.

If we're discussing Marshall's testimony here, then more myth on display.

[Coroner] You are quite sure that the deceased is the woman you saw? - Quite. I did not take much notice whether she was carrying anything in her hands.
[Coroner] What first attracted your attention to the couple? - By their standing there for some time, and he was kissing her.

It was noted at the time that Marshall's description was similar to Best and Gardener's descriptions. Best and Gardener also stated that the man and Stride were kissing, it's a fair bet they all saw the same man. Best and Gardener noted that Stride wore a flower

In the same way that I can accept in theory--but not in practise--invisible signs of strangulation and invisible semen stains on Liz and Kate.

                      Cheers.

                        Hello (again) CD. Thanks.

As I've noted a few hundred times in the past, try dovetailing that with the facts. You can't get there from here.

                        Cheers.

Right. And so now that we have hope, it's back to bed with dreams of our mentor, Inspector LeStrade.

Hello Colin. Thanks. Almost missed your post.

Well, she did if G & B are to be believed. But if not, we must make a tentative hypothesis about the origin of the flower--and after midnight. I'm game.

                            Cheers.
