    Pure Nonsense

This is precisely what I'm talking about. Trevor Marriott (and other authors) are completely incorrect, therefore their readers draw conclusions from bad information. See my posts on this topic earlier on in the thread. What Lynn posted here is absolutely incorrect.

Dr. Phillips did suggest that Stride's killer might have used a shorter bladed knife because of where her head was positioned. He didn't think a long knife would have made it under her. But we must remember the tightened scarf. The Ripper likely used the scarf to pull her head up so that he COULD get his long-bladed knife under her. Hence the tightened scarf. It all pieces together fine.

But absolutely no doctor said a blunt-tipped knife was used on Stride. They actually said quite the opposite. I've pointed this out toLynn before but he seems to be opposed to simple truths.

    Yours truly,

        Kat,

I would put Trevor's book at the bottom of your list.

          Kate,
I personally wouldnt buy it. I know for sure the blunt-tip myth isnt one to get into. Too many have fallen for it.
          Washington Irving:

"To a homeless man, who has no spot on this wide world which he can truly call his own, there is a momentary feeling of something like independence and territorial consequence, when, after a weary day's travel, he kicks off his boots, thrusts his feet into slippers, and stretches himself before an inn fire. Let the world without go as it may; let kingdoms rise and fall, so long as he has the wherewithal to pay his bills, he is, for the time being, the very monarch of all he surveys. The arm chair in his throne; the poker his sceptre, and the little parlour of some twelve feet square, his undisputed empire. "

            The Final Word

The following is Dr. Blackwell from the Daily Telegraph coverage of the Stride inquest:

'With respect to the knife which was found, I should like to say that I concur with Dr. Phillips in his opinion that, although it might possibly have inflicted the injury, it is an extremely unlikely instrument to have been used. It appears to me that a murderer, in using a round-pointed instrument, would seriously handicap himself, as he would be only able to use it in one particular way.'

Just to reiterate, neither doctor felt a blunt-tip instrument would have been used, and they didn't see a reason to think the Coram knife was the murder weapon. However, since there was only one cut inflicted on Stride, and it wasn't with the knife tip, it's impossible to say the knife used on her was sharp-tipped, but since the blade was unquestionably sharp, it would be strange if the tip were not.

            Yours truly,

            Tom Wescott

              pattern

              Hello Tom.

"What Lynn posted here is absolutely incorrect."

Really? You mean I misquoted? I had the book in hand at the time.

Ah! But perhaps you mean Trevor's take is incorrect? So it's not absolutely incorrect, but the idea behind it is.

So that makes Trevor Marriott incorrect. And, as I recall, the doctor who placed Liz 9 ft from the gates was incorrect, as was Eagle who put it somewhat less (6-7 ft) than that.

Interesting! A pattern is beginning to emerge.

              Thanks!

              The best.

Stride presents a very tough case for us. The knife, the circumstances of her death, some people(not saying names) are even supposing that it was conspirised by the jewish socialists.

No, I mean what I said. What you posted is incorrect.

Yes, Lynn, a pattern is emerging. And that pattern is the poor resources you're choosing to use. Do your own research and figure it out like I did.

                    Blackwell

Hello Tom. What was he saying about its being POSSIBLE that it was round tipped?

I'm delighted that you are quoting Blackwell. He's a good man to quote. Any other quotes of his you would care to adduce? I'm all ears.

                    The best.

                      Hello Tom.

"[T]hat pattern is the poor resources you're choosing to use."

I have chosen MANY resources. I'm sorry if this ex-police officer is not up to speed.

"Do your own research and figure it out like I did."

Well, I was researching and quoting from the press releases of the inquest; but, as I recall, you didn't like those either.

                      At any rate . . .

                      The best.

You don't seem to understand what you read, Lynn, and I don't have time to interpret every piece of the evidence for you. I don't appreciate you asking questions and then challenging the answers without even researching first. I also don't appreciate you lying to other posters about me behind my back. I'm glad you like having fun on these boards. But if you'd like to keep it fun, then I'd suggest altering your approach to the case and the other posters on these boards.

                        Yours truly,

                          Strange!
                          Stride is now canonical.
Some months ago she was not (according to another poll).

"I also don't appreciate you lying to other posters about me behind my back."

I have no idea what this means. I'm sorry, but frankly, I don't even know you. You are one researcher amongst many. I applaud that.

As far as interpreting goes, I appreciate the gesture, but I'll manage.

                            Thanks.

Yes, but 'the many' seem to agree with me regarding your behavior. I thought I'd be the one to lend a friendly hand in letting you know these things.
