I was aware of that quote from Bulldog when I answered Stephen, because there are 2 weather charts there Bulldog, the first being an Official Conditions report for London generally, and the 2nd being the unofficial Whitechapel Conditions report. That 2nd one mentions nothing about precipitation locally.
I havent found a source that suggests rain right up until midnight.
"The body was still warm, and the clothes enveloping it were wet from the recent rain."
Thanks, Simon
Yet Dr Blackwell said the clothes were not wet from the rain. I've just found this excellent Dave Yost article in the Dissertations section from which it can be seen that there was slight rain after 11 o'clock and probably none after 11.30.

Now you know that you can trust an answer from me on occasion, ....as suggested, it ended as the meeting broke up.....which means that rain wouldnt have prevented men from going down to the yard for a smoke and some air...like on a normal Sat night for the Club. Particularly non members but rather attendees considering adopting Socialism,...maybe like Israel.
