Kates facial wounds have nothing at all to do with what was taken from her, yet the killer thought that he'd take the time to cut her nose anyway. If the chevrons are collateral damage, the act might have been singular...he may have intended to just cut her nose. In which case we would be discussing what essentially marking her face might mean....which I gave an explanation for in the very first post.
She told a friend she intended to snitch on someone she knew, and she dies with a facial mark that is associated with street justice inflicted on snitches. Kinda synchronous.
