17th September to Diary handwriting comparisons

I have just tried writing a short sentence of seven words, at the same speed I would normally write. On comparing them I can see many very obvious differences and as many things that are very much the same.
Perhaps all the letters should go through the same ordeals that the Diary and Watch have been through? We could see how close to 1888 the experts who examined the Diary get to their real dates.
