Which certainly is the case for the HoL channel, or most 'Lechmere dunnit' videos. Been having an astonishing 'conversation' with someone of late...

Me: Cross was at the corner of the Wool Warehouse when he noticed the bundle, this is 61 feet diagonally from where Polly lay, so that means if he was in the middle of the road he was 30.5 feet away when he noticed it was a woman's body.'

Them: That is impossible as the street was only 24 feet across so if he was 30 feet away he would have been inside one of the buildings.

Me: Do you understand what a diagonal line is? Do you realise he was not directly opposite the body when he spotted it, that would mean he had his head turned 90 degrees at the exact time of 'noticing?'

Them: No the road is only 24 feet across so the middle of the road means he was only 6 feet away from the body.

Me: Since when is half of 24 feet 6 feet?

...and so it continues. Like my dear mother would say you should not argue with 'stupid.'

What bothers me is what made Ed Stow focus on a man like Lechmere in the first place. Was it because his partner happens to be descended from him? Seems like a terrible reason to me. You'd think he'd want JtR to be the polar opposite of a white, English working man who fathered loads of little Lechmeres - unless he's actually a 'fan'.

I figured it was because of his partner, yes.
Which is as dumb a reason as I can muster.

And your "fan" reference... with what I know of his political past, a definite possibility. The Us vs. Them sickness. He strikes me as having quite the Big Man Around Town demeanour, so how does Ed look upon anyone who he sees as not his equal???

I have no parental lyrical waxing to compare to yours, Geddy and Caz.
My dad was a cop, a Constable, in the RCMP.
His reply would have simply been, "What a dumba$$."

Perhaps reminiscent of Jeff Mudgett, Caz. Obsessed that his relation HH Holmes was Jack the Ripper despite there being more evidence for the existence of unicorns.

I mean they were both in the BNP together and the 'Rights for Whites' campaigns. Not sure how the conversation would go. Probably Sue knew about his love of the case and fed him the line she was related to the finder of Polly Nichols then Stow 'replied get your coat you have pulled.' Do they have little Stows of their own? What did the Butler see?

Fictional serial killers are bold, clever, witty, powerful, dangerous, and in control - all the things fascists like to pretend they are. So it doesn't surprise me that a fascist would take pleasure in his girlfriend being related to a serial killer.

Charles Cross as the Whitechapel murderer really should be dismissed out of hand. A load of old waffle as my Grandmother used to say.

                            Thank you Herlock.

An excellent essay that exposes the Stow/Holmgren Scam and dissolves their senseless and baseless framing of Cross in easily digestible bite-sized chunks.
