At any rate, as Gareth put it, the IWMEC would be a strange choice of place for prostitution.

Hi Lynn, strange or not, the IWMEC was in Berner Street, prostitutes did solicit in Berner Street, and Stride, a known prostitute, was in Berner Street after midnight.
If the killer were disorganised, he likely would not have lasted through 5 murders. In fact, I think he would have been apprehended, by, say, September 12.
Cheers.

Problem is that the man who murdered Nichols and Chapman wasn't a disorganised killer. He was an organised opportunist.
???
If that is your reply to my "organised opportunist" post, then I tell you the killer is obviously an organised opportunist. It's all in "Crime Scenes and MO for Dummies", my dear.
Now I'm not saying Isenchmid couldn't be organised. Quite the reverse, remembering his capability to collect, prepare and sell succulent têtes de veau sauce gribiche.

See, I seem to recall we had identified traits in these crimes that suggested the killer was disorganized in some respects yet organised in others.
In other words, he was no different than any of us....
I have absolutely no eidence upon which to base this half-baked speculation, but here is a thought:
We know "Jack", or whatever his real name was, was good with a knife, and there seems to be some indications he was physically capable of disabling his victims - choking them unconscious, and possibly a blow to the head.
We know he took some risks, including carrying out his crimes in places where he could have been discovered or cornered.
Maybe Jack was a tough guy who knew how to handle himself and was pretty confident in his ability to either sneak or run away, intimidate any pain-in-the-rear innocent by-standers, or fight his way out if necessary?
