A Young Doctor's Notebook and Feldshers

"A Young Doctor's Notebook" (TV) stars Daniel Radcliffe, Jon Hamm and Adam Godley. Godley plays Demyan Lukich (The Feldsher).

The stories are based on the writings of Mikhaíl Afanasyevich Bulgakov, Russian (1891-1940) and his experience at Smolensk Governorate during the Russian revolution as a young doctor.

The feldsher here is a trained as field doctor and is an assistant during operations.

I have heard that George Chapman's experience as a feldsher is not extended to such. Why would his position be significantly different from this Russian Feldsher?

It would be good to see an actual journal article on Polish feldshers from the late 1800s.
Bona fide canonical and then some.

How about instead an intelligent appraisal based on Helena's excellent book? (Nice piece of trolling by the way)

      G'day Dave

Maybe because he just couldn't shake Helena and the evidence she presented. Or in spite of what he has claimed elsewhere he hasn't read her book.

There are two ways to be fooled, one is to believe what isn't true, the other is to refuse to believe that which is true.
