"A Young Doctor's Notebook" (TV) stars Daniel Radcliffe, Jon Hamm and Adam Godley. Godley plays Demyan Lukich (The Feldsher).
The stories are based on the writings of Mikhaíl Afanasyevich Bulgakov, Russian (1891-1940) and his experience at Smolensk Governorate during the Russian revolution as a young doctor.
The feldsher here is a trained as field doctor and is an assistant during operations.
I have heard that George Chapman's experience as a feldsher is not extended to such. Why would his position be significantly different from this Russian Feldsher?
It would be good to see an actual journal article on Polish feldshers from the late 1800s.
