I feel bad about myself for rising to the bait..BUT...you have just exposed one of the worst faults of Casebook : namely the habit of ridiculising people over spelling mistakes/grammatical errors/ and typos : it exposes a lack of
suavity /largesse of spirit/broadmindedness etc.

I'm sure that it succeeds in frightening off interesting new members.

For the record : I don't have any pretensions and I make mistakes -and I am genuinely impressed that you obviously don't, Caz.

In your not so humble opinion, Rubes.

Some of us think one of the worst faults of any written medium is this woeful "can't be arsed" attitude that some people have while expecting their readers to make the extra effort required to plough through their badly written posts. It's natural enough to make mistakes here and there, but if you can't bear anyone 'ridiculising' you for a particularly amusing one, there's a simple answer - you picked the wrong medium.

It would be no good the English football team blaming someone in the crowd for 'ridiculising' them, would it? You have to up your game or put up with the reaction.

Another fault, since you brought up the subject, is the use of 'obviously' when it's a matter of opinion.

For example, I obviously do make mistakes just like everyone else - that's fact, not opinion. I just don't whinge at anyone else when the fault is my own.

For another example, the ripper may have had a Jewish thang going on, but there is no 'obviously' about it outside of personal opinion. My opinion is that your ideas are worth considering, which is why I'm still reading and responding.
