    Es gibt keins.

Hello Antony. Given my house is involved, I would have to say there never WAS a "Jack the Ripper."

Good. Now I have a place to sleep tonight.

    Cheers.

Sorry to wake you from you slumbers, Lynn, but does this mean there were several, copycat killings? Or is it Jackie The Ripper? Intrigued.

If I've understood it right, Lynn believes that Jacob Isenschmid committed the first two murders in a fit of delusion, while the remaining murders were unrelated, as Isenschmid was in police custody or an asylum when they occurred.

That's the gist of it but I'm sure he can elaborate further.

The problem with the alternatives offered to the single killer argument is that no one has yet come up with a reasonable alternative. Lynn's argument in favour of Issenchmidt murdering Nichols and Chapman is well thought out but, in my opinion, such an individual would, in all likelihood, be far too disorganized to avoid getting caught.

On the other hand, Simon Wood's argument, which seems to be that Chapman was killed by a Tory MP and senior military officer, whilst assuming the identity of the pensioner Ted Stanley, is simply bizarre.

Favoured candidates: Francis Thompson, Kosminski and Bury, although frankly I'm not sure I would even bet a monopoly house on any of them!

Wild card: Dr Llewellyn, who fits the profile surprisingly well.

                Hello Antony. Thanks.

A deranged pork butcher got Polly and Annie. Liz? Copy? Of whom?

Kate, yes, copy cat. "MJK" completely unrelated.

                Cheers.

Right you are. And PC Cracknell made the pinch.

Abberline. Reputedly walked the streets of Whitechapel at nights. And who wouldn't trust him?

Two that would interest me (in fact interest me as criminals in any even) if they could be placed in London are Kelly and Deeming.

Not to bust your bubble Ben but it is highly, highly, highly unlikely that the "Ripper" dressed in type of clothing he is often depicted wearing in drawings of him floating around these days.
I couldn't agree more, Sherlock, and I'm afraid you must have misunderstood my post if you thought I was suggesting otherwise. You'll find no more zealous a burster of that particular "bubble" than me.

                              .

No house-betting, but my favorite suspect is Joe Barnett. Yes, I do realize how unpopular a choice this is.

Reason: To keep it short and simple, he was a strange guy under extreme stress.

I don't buy into his innocent white knight presentation. I think he had multiple real problems and that he may have been using murder as a way to "deal" with things in his mind.

I am always interested in all suspects though. But after 16 years of this case, I still cannot shake Joe Barnett.
