  • 1888:

Good grief! You're so out of touch with developments, you don't even know why, scientifically, there is no dna evidence that points to Kosminski!!

Apart from that, it doesn't need a detective to realise that you are not British, and have appalling English. In addition, the same immature, silly style of posting as Pierre.

Pierre (who claims he is 46) has NOTHING! You are both silly little boring little boys who are spoiling this site.

Not entertaining in any way, shape, or form to any grown up person. I guarantee 'Pierre' and his theory will fade to nothing. No revelation, no publication, zilch.

      • I recently contacted Admin and complained in fairly strong terms about this entire 'Pierre' nonsense, now compounded by '1888'. So far Admin has not even acknowledged receipt of my complaint.

In all the many years I've taken an interest in JtR Casebook, and also in other cases discussed on these boards, I think we've reached a new low, and I am now tempted to say "sod it!" and go elsewhere, and I'm probably not the only long-term poster who feels this way.. Perhaps if we all did that, then Admin might act.

(There is no doubt in my mind - and I do have some training in linguistics and use of language - that 'Pierre' and '1888' are one and the same person, and not British; nor is his birth-language English. Whoever he is, he is pathetic).

Nope. I feel bad for making that joke. It was just too far.

              • I'm not taking sides, but when there's a thread or topic which doesn't interest me, I simply don't get into it which eliminates potential sources of frustration. It's not like Pierre is messing up someone else's thread, he opened it as well as a couple of others. The fact that he refuses to tell more about his suspect is childish, I aggree. On the other hand, in many threads, we see members saying more than they should and nobody seems to care or complain.

                Respectfully yours,

Mind you, Hercule, he did post in the JUWES thread yesterday with the title of his post being "I think I have solved this." So he does seem to have widened his scope.

Personally, he doesn't bother me at all, so I agree with your general philosophy, and I recall Admin's advice was to ignore his threads if he raises the blood pressure, but one can't ignore him if he posts in other threads (which he does!).

                  • Has 1888 vanished already?

                    That was quick.

                        LOL!
Bingo! Which is why he just spored 1888!

Thats surprising they normally like to ban anyone for absolutely no reason what so ever...

Its great to see the world of ripperology developing in such a positive direction

                            • No, David, I haven't vanished, but I simply went about other pursuits in my life.
And since you asked nicely: I didn't post the name of the suspect who is presumably championed by Pierre because laying out my reasons would be equivalent to outing him as I see it.
Maybe it was a mistake to post on this thread. I might have misjudged the degree of lightheartedness. I figured that Pierre wasn't inclined to share his theory anytime soon. So I decided to figure it out by myself and wanted to encourage those who are at least to a certain degree intrigued by Pierre to do the same.I thought that those who feel there's nothing to gain anyway by participating in this particular thread and that it is all childish wouldn't care one way or the other. Pierre isn't insulting anyone after all.
As to those who doubt my knowledge of basic Ripper facts: there will be many here whose knowledge is much more profound than mine. But please don't twist one or two half sentences into something it never meant in the first place. I'm quite well versed with the facts around the bloody shawl and the dna tests. I followed it closely and after just reading here for many years these developments motivated me finally to register in Febuary this year.
