Let's not forget that the Police at the time thought Chapman (totally different M.O.) and Druitt and Tumblety who frankly have little going for them as top suspects.

Tumblety was favored by Littlechild and no one else.
Druitt was discounted by Abberline, Littlechild, and Reid.
