Then again, according to you Fleming IS more than Fleming ...
My take on it is that there actually is more to Fleming than you think - a whole foot of it.
Gee, I´m on a roll here!
The best, David!

Something is telling me that the infamous height's mistake will soon be proven to be...a mistake.
Wait and see.
Of course, anybody willing to think it through honestly already knows that.

How could a fine candidate for MJK be a non-starter for JtR ?
And does it mean that you believe in JtR now ?
I guess you don't. So who's the one you call "JtR" ? The killer of the first two canonicals ?

Wonderful to see you back, David!
A likely suspect is more than Fleming
I could have sworn you wrote an article for Ripperologist naming Fleming as the most likely suspect. You might want to have a word with Messrs Begg, Fido and Skinner, because they have you down as a Fleming-proponent in their A-Z.

" J T R"
Hello David. Thanks.
"How could a fine candidate for MJK be a non-starter for JtR?"
Because some person--for want of her real name, "MJK,"--actually died. "JTR" is a fanciful way of connecting disparate things.
"And does it mean that you believe in JtR now?"
Certainly not.
"I guess you don't."
Excellent guess.
"So who's the one you call "JtR"?"
No one.
Cheers.

I did not feel dishonest in the least when doing that. On the contrary - I would have felt a lot less at ease if I just accepted something without checking it. I always thought it best to check things out - to compare and see if there are other examples that can verify the one I am wondering about.
We shall have to wait and see if the height - which is not infamous, by the way - is proven to be a mistake or not. We all know that there would have been people back then who read the entry and had the chance to correct it if it was a mistake. So they obviously missed out on the opportunity for some reason.
All the best,
Fisherman
