Jonathan Tye found a very interesting article published in the East End News and London Shipping Chronicle dated 17 August 1909 which has Edward Buckley ("tailor") explaining himself after his extensive rap sheet was read out before the magistrate.
Buckley:

"(...) I have not committed murder, and I've never done anyone any harm."



The larceny incident and subsequent trial articles were referenced in the Buckley article (pages 75/76, source: https://www.jtrforums.com/articles/6...chment-version), but this particular report of 17 August 1909 had escaped our attention at the time.

Great reasearch on this. Do we know anything more about what offences he was charged with that got him six weeks incarceration at Epsom?
